DEI-course for professionals

As the DEI, JEDI, EDI (etc.) industry grows in Denmark and Scandinavia, more and more resources, approaches, and ideas circulate. But what actually works and what might do more harm than good? Can DEI work stand alone, or does it rely on a broader approach? What do you do after those first steps (establishing a working group, hiring a dedicated role (or more), or carrying out some bias-training?

As this area of expertise develops, a lot of the resources tend to emphasize the very very beginning of "the work", but what about what happens next? With this course, Tess and I wanted to create a space for those with a bit more experience under their belt. Those of you who work with non-discrimination, equity, or ESG questions as part of your day-to-day, who need slightly more advanced support.

DEI Consulting

Discrimination and inequality can be harmful to any organisation, but is often difficult to identify and understand. Identification and analysis of your DEI (Diversity, Equity and Inclusion) opportunities can assist you to find your risks of bias and discrimination across your organisation - through policies, procedures and culture, to internal and external communication. Identification and analysis are important first steps when designing meaningful solutions.

1-on-1 sparring for leaders

Build stronger DEI leadership through specialized 1-on-1 sparring and troubleshooting for the leaders in your organization. I offer specialized support and advice for individuals who need to be at the forefront of anti-discriminatory leadership.

Strategy consulting

Many diversity and anti-discrimination initiatives have historically proven ineffective at best, and damaging, at worst. Move beyond risks of ineffective and superficial diversity strategies with tactical support. I can help you move your DEI efforts to effective anti-discrimination results. Moving from thought to action requires research and knowledge-based approaches, that lay the foundations for sustainable work down the line.

dialogue facilitation

Using an open inquiry, dialogue based technique, I guide participants through challenging conversations and help them develop their knowledge about central issues and topics that can be difficult to navigate in everyday and organizational environments. This approach provides an effective learning environment in which participants engage deeply with subject matter.

Workshops

Workshops include a presentation, questions, reflection as well as facilitated, structured group dialogue & exercises. The purpose is to build a knowledge base on diskrimination within the themes that affect your organisation. Read more about some of the themes below.

Recommended 2-5 workshops of 2-3 hour duration with approx. one month apart. Workshops are brought to the location of the organisation in question.

Non-Discrimination workshop

Introduction to discrimination, with an emphasis on structural discrimination and micro-discrimination. It provides support for critical and careful dialogue about what it means to be target or (perhaps accidental) perpetrator of discrimination. The workshop will help build hands-on solutions to tackling discrimination in the workplace, organization, or in leadership.

Gender and (in)equality workshop

Is it true, that there are fewer women in leadership, because they would rather not have leadership responsibility? Do quotas mean choosing a less qualified candidate for the job?  This workshop introduces definitions, challenges and strategies for work with gender discrimination. It teaches how gender discrimination works in concert with other forms of discrimination.

Anti-Racism workshop

For those who want to better understand and act on racism and racial discrimination. It provides a thorough introduction to terms, mechanisms, and dynamics of racism and discrimination, with an emphasis on practice and solutions.
